Council Loremaster
Lucia Scura
Lucia Scura
Name:Lucia “The Austere” Scura
Meaning: Lucia (Light) Scura (Dark) so “light\dark”
Nickname(s): Well if you really want to annoy her you could refer to her as Lucy or any other nickname you prefer. Just don’t say it to her face. Not a great idea if you want to get on her good side.
Age: Unknown. Looks in her mid thirties or forties
Gender: Female
Race: Half witch\half human
Preference: Bisexual but will insist she is simply not interested.
Profession: English teacher (can change if someone else wishes to take/has already taken this post)
Physical Appearances:
One of the first things someone would notice about Lucia (at least from a distance) is that she is tall. Standing at 6’ in bare feet and 6’1” in her shoes she is one of the taller women you will ever see. Despite this she does nothing to hide her height, in fact enhancing it with inch high heels in order to gain maximum height without losing the ability to walk.
She uses her height to intimidate those who are intimidated by such things as without it she isn’t particularly physically intimidating – a slightly built lady, thin, with small bones and slightly pale due to too much time inside.
She has ‘no time’ for ‘frivolous’ things like jewelry and makeup for what use would she have for them? They are simply a waste of her hard earned money.
Her hair is very simple and unadorned. Black - although with streaks of grey at the temples - and straight, it reaches down to the small of her back if she ever let it down. As it is she prefers to tie it back or up, depending on what seems prudent to do at the time to keep it out of her way.
Close up the first thing you may notice, if you aren’t one to notice expressions first, are her eyes. A brilliant green, they are said to be her best feature although she is not the one who said this. The first thing everyone else would notice about these eyes is that they are constantly narrowed into a half glare for if you are talking to her you are taking up her valuable time.
Piercings: None. Why would she mutilate herself like that?
Tattoos: Again. Self mutilation
Other distinguishing features: Her hands are very rough from years of drying them out on dusty books, moving heavy items around, handling chemicals and hot glue etc.
Clothing Style: Although she looks like a woman who would be at home wearing long skirts in fact she dislikes anything that will get in the way of her work and skirts and dresses fall under this category.
Instead she tends to wear severe although reasonably comfortable black trousers with inch high black heels and a plain white blouse with a black cardigan.
When she is certain she will not be seen by her students she may don overalls to work with old books, repairing and restoring the old volumes without getting the glue and dust on her clothes.

Personality: On the surface she is a stern, straight-laced, almost unfriendly woman who wouldn’t lift a finger to assist you unless you could prove to her you could make it worth her while.
She is rather impatient with slow or childish people and will punish harshly anyone who breaks the rules, often becoming deaf to any explanations or excuses, believing that anything a rule-breaker says is likely to be a lie.
Underneath she is a woman who tells herself she enjoys solitude and quiet and indeed she does…however what she doesn’t admit even to herself is that she is deeply afraid of getting close to anyone. If she entered a relationship with a mortal she would be doomed to eventually lose them to old age and any immortal could leave her through death or simply losing interest in her.
Despite her fear of dying alone (although she knows this may never happen as she is an immortal) she feels unable to risk the pain of allowing someone in then losing them.
Family: ---
Background: Lucia was born in Italy to a witch and a human. As a mortal she often got into trouble by being actively unfriendly and blunt. Any friends she did make eventually grew tired of her nature and left her so she got used to simply being used.
Her almost mercenary outlook on life, although it left her almost friendless, led her to become reasonably wealthy and allowed her to pursue her hobby of repairing and restoring ancient books, occasionally even being commissioned to repair them, although at a price.
She was eventually approached to take on the role of Loremaster after Siofra became the Leader of the High Council.
