“When a maiden warrior screams for courage as she dies in battle, Wóden and Freya heed her call. The two gods give up lightning to strike her, rescuing her to their hall, and preserving her courage forever in the form of the maiden’s immortal Valkyrie daughter.”
So, technically, a Valkyrie has three parents. They are born in, and live in, Valhalla, a place that exists on a separate plane of reality. If a Valkyrie chooses to leave Valhalla for any reason, they may not return.
Half-Valkyries can be born of a Valkyrie mother and a father of a different race. They retain Valkyrie features and habits, even if they are unaware of their heritage.
Like the Witches, each Valkyries receives a title upon reaching their immortality (for example, Siofra the Indomitable). It is usually a title that reflects the Witch's personality or appearance.
Valkyries:
They are also known as Swan Maidens or Shield Maidens.
In moments of intense emotion, a Valkyrie causes overhead electrical storms (manifesting in lightening), and their eyes turn silver.
All Valkyries have elf-like ears (partway between a Lord of the Rings-style elf, and a World of Warcraft Blood Elf. Long enough to show through hair, but not so long that they wobble when they walk). A part-Valkyrie may not show outward manifestations of her heritage until she reaches immortality.

Valkyries:
- Take sustenance from the electrical energy of the earth, sharing it in one collective power, and give it back with their emotions in the form of lightning.
- Possess preternatural strength and speed.
- Without training, can be mesmerized by shining objects and jewels.
