Setting:
It has been a long day for the staff of Haversham Manor, and for many had been a restless night previously. The usually quiet and well-behaved ghosts of the old house had been causing trouble and making noises for the majority of the sleeping hours. Those who were more sensitive to spirit-related activity had been plagued almost constantly, and even those who were usually immune to such things had been bothered.
Explaining the happenings away to the non-Lorekind students had been...interesting, to say the least. It had been slightly easier, though no less irksome, explaining things to the Lorekind students. Irksome, because none of the teachers - not even the spiritually- or psychically-minded - could give a concise answer as to why the ghosts had been so restless.

[ Sophie/Siofra --- Third floor staffroom ]
To say the headmistress was exhausted would have been a considerable understatement. Having spent half the night trying to reason with the spirits, and the other half trying to oust them from her school, she had had no sleep whatsoever. A brief nap had been obtained after morning assembly, but not really long enough for her liking. She was having to concentrate on keeping her Glamour raised, though how long she would be able to continue that, she honestly wasn't sure.

He didn't usually enter the house, much less the staff room. But he had been mildly curious as to why the normally dark house had had various rooms lit up at odd intervals in the middle of the night. Radulf walked into the staff room and greeted the tired-looking headmistress.

"Ah, Radulf, good evening." The woman raised her hand slightly in greeting, placing herself carefully down in a slightly over-stuffed chair. Idly she wondered why she even kept the thing; it was really quite a hideous article. Still, she supposed it was comfortable enough, and she rarely stayed in the staffroom for any length of time.
"What brings you inside?" She queried, once she had become as comfortable as she suspected she would get. Her vision was very slightly fuzzy around the edges, and she silently warned herself not to stay social for too long that evening.
Early to bed with you. She told herself.

Normally, the ghosts wouldn't have bothered him, even if they were restless, but one had managed to figure out how to manipulate the switch on his reading lamp and right in the middle of a good murder mystery, had turned the lights out. Lailoken, or Loki as he preferred to be called, would never admit that the girlish squeak that had followed came from him. He was just glad that his room had been empty of other living souls and that hopefully no one had heard. Although he could see easily in the dark, Loki had learned long ago that reading in the dark caused very bad headaches the next day and always used a small lamp by his bed. The ghost, seemingly fascinated that it could manipulate something, spent several minutes turning the light on and off, never giving Loki's eyes enough time to fully adjust.
Deciding that one night of lost sleep wouldn't hurt him, Loki pulled the plug on the lamp, then had gotten up to see if he could help calm the spirits. The Philosophy teacher spent more time calming the students than the spirits and began making up ridiculous excuses for the ghosts' behaviour, telling at least one group of students that the spirits demanded the sacrifice of a certain actor from a certain bad vampire movie.
The rest of the day passed calmly and Loki retreated to the staff room after classes to finish his book in peace. When he arrived, he was surprised to see the Gardener and Headmistress in conversation. Nodding in greeting to both of them, Loki found a nice comfy chair on the other side of the room so that he wouldn't intrude. 'Doesn't mean I can't listen. Wonder who walked on the flowers this time?'

"There were lights on in the house at odd times last night," Radulf said, "I thought that was odd."
When the philosophy teacher entered the room, the gardener awarded him with a blink of acknowledgement before returning his attention to the headmistress.

[[ Sylver, I laughed so hard at one sentence in your post I snorted tea. Yup. ]]
"Ah." Siofra nodded slowly, the movement feeling as though it was taking more effort than usual. "There were certain...events occurring last night." She expanded to the gardener, nodding to Loki as he entered. "Someone or something upset the usual spirits, and apparently invited a score more, and they all decided to be irritating at once." She finished with a sigh, resting her head on the back of the chair for a brief moment, before raising her head once more and glancing over to where her colleague had placed himself.
"Can I assume that you were party to our other-world party last night, Loki?" she queried, one eyebrow slightly raised.

[[ Hope it wasn't too hot. ]]
Loki glanced up from his book and nodded to the headmistress. He was still good to go for several more hours, but he could feel the lack of sleep starting to catch up. He hoped he wouldn't be needed for his 'other' job tonight. "Someone decided that my reading lamp was their new toy. That, or they were trying to communicate in a language I have never learned." He replaced his bookmark and turned to better face the others.
"If they decide to roam the halls again tonight, I vote we bunk with the gardener, here. Or hold a school-wide seance. There were a few students last night that mentioned calling some group of spirit removal people. Can't remember the name, though."

"I see," Radulf responded evenly. "I didn't know that there were spirits that are this troublesome in here." He sniffed a bit derisively, "It sounds as though they are petty little ones at that."

Siofra chuckled lightly at Loki's words; she had always been terribly fond of humans and their films.
"Ghostbusters." She said, rubbing one side of her face absent-mindedly. The scar was not visible whilst she wore her Glamour, but it still ached when she was tired, regardless of whether others could see it or not. "I imagine they would have been saying we should call Ghostbusters." She glanced sideways back to Radulf.
"Petty they were indeed. Though I am curious as to what set them off. Usually the spirits of the school are content with their existence. Something upset them." She sighed softly, resting her head back against the chair a moment. "Hopefully they will not create again this evening."

"Maybe we need to get some marshmallows and flamethrowers. That scene always looked like fun." Loki stood from his chair, then vanished. He returned a few moments later, much closer to the chair Siofra was sitting in, with his arms loaded with marshmallows.
As he removed a marshmallow from an open bag, he was aware that maybe he was more tired than he thought he would be. "I couldn't find the flamethrower. But I'm sure we could get some of the kids to come up with something suitable."

The headmistress was most surprised to have Loki popping about all over the staffroom. He seemed to be in better spirits and have more energy than she herself did. The sight of the marshmallows, however, made her grin broadly. Without stopping to ask, she grabbed one and popped it into her mouth.
She nearly attempted to continue conversation whilst still chewing, but thought better of it, and waited until she had finished the sweet before starting to talk.
"If I could be sure we would only have our Lorekind students, I would be inclined to ask a Flame Elemental Spirit to come and play for us. Still, your idea has merit," she pondered, leaning back in her chair again. "Perhaps a school bonfire evening might lift spirits... And hopefully not the literal sort..." She smiled wearily over at Loki. "We could create some sort of celebration, yes? It may take minds off this incident."
Siofra then looked back to her erstwhile gardener. "Radulf, is there any area we could hold a bonfire without damaging the grounds?"

"I'm sure that there's some day of celebration soon that we could use as an excuse. Human or Lorekind." Loki handed the open bag of marshmallows to the Headmistress then wandered back over to his book.
He dumped the other bags of marshmallows onto a nearby table while he tried to remember if there were any holidays in the near future. "We could say that it's a birthday celebration for all the students and that the first one to blow out the bonfire, without the aid of fire extinguishers or magic, gets an A in all their classes."
He began reading again then smirked. "Or, there's always the excuse that we need the students outside while we unleash giant cats into the school to eat the mice in the walls."

"Loki be serious," the headmistress chuckled. "I don't think our high-paying patrons would be pleased to hear we were filling their delightful children's heads with stories of giant felines." She tutted. "Still, I'm sure we can find some sort of celebration. The end of summer, perhaps, and the coming of Autumn? Harvest festival? I don't know..." she rubbed her eyes briefly. "There are so many festivals, I honestly would not know where to start."

Lucia was in a bad mood, to put it mildly. Last night she had been one of the ones to be out of bed, herding the noisy and confused students back into their beds. This, however, wasn’t why she was in a bad mood exactly, not the whole of it. This wasn’t the first time she had skipped a night of sleep. That was the problem in fact. The night before she had remained awake to pursue her hobby in peace, not an easy feat in the daylight hours.
So in other words she had spent the last two nights awake and was not all that happy about it.
Cursing herself, her students, the ghosts and several members of the faculty she stepped into the staffroom. She stared briefly at the inexplicable sight of several bags of marshmallows then turned to glare at the occupants of the room although she made certain that this glare was not the one she oft turned on the students.
“Headmistress, Loki, Radaulf” she nodded to each of them in turn. She sat down with a small tired sigh and leaned back. Oddly enough the usually slightly lumpy chair she was sat in didn’t seem all that lumpy now, quite comfortable in fact.

"A bonfire would be fine, if it did not leave its confines," Radulf replied at a time in which it was appropriate, due to his player forgetting about this place. He nodded his greeting to the new arrival
